Alfonso Ferrandez holds a PhD Computational BioFluid Dynamics (Leeds), he has designed and built one of the largest IoT networks in the UK as CTO of OVO Energy and its Kaluza division. He was the CTO of DoctorLink building the entire platform as a medical device Class IIa/IIb. Expert in advanced computer vision and data fusion algorithms.

Alfonso has been in the IT industry for over 25 years. His Ph.D. work was supported by the NHS and led to an algorithm used by NASA today to vet astronauts’ health.

He is a Technology Visionary Leader, Advisor, and Strategist of complex and advanced software solutions. Curator of High-Performance Technical Teams. Mentor of technology leaders who aspire to become inspirational mentors themselves. Firm believer and evangelist of User Centred Design and UX design principles.

With feet firmly planted on the Cloud, particularly interested in the integration of disparate Cloud-based services. A fan of the Windows Azure approach to service design and implementation, but also a fan of Amazon AWS' way of doing things. As DoctorLink’s CTO he brought the digital triaging platform selected by the NHS for video consultation from 1K users to about 15 million before being sold while

He has designed and implemented complex software systems ranging from Cloud-based Enterprise class solutions to mobile applications and embedded devices such as Set Top Boxes. He has extensive experience in mathematical and computational algorithms, consultancy work, and technical customer-facing roles.
