BEng in medical engineering and a BSc in pure mathematics, MSc, and PhD in applied mathematics. She was a VINNMER (Vinnova-Marie curie) Fellow at the Karolinska Institute (2014) and held a postdoctoral position at BioQuant, Heidelberg University before becoming Assistant Professor at the Unit of Computational Medicine at the Karolinska Institute (the institution that awards the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine).

She is currently a senior researcher and a lab leader at the Algorithmic Dynamics Lab, Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
